Selep Homestay – Serenity in the Heart of the Hills
Escape to Selep Homestay, tucked away in the quiet and colorful Selep village of Ravangla in South Sikkim. Lovingly run by Sanjip Newang and his wife Priya since 2013, this offbeat haven welcomes you with blooming gardens, traditional village charm, and heartfelt local hospitality. The approach winds through serene hills and scattered hamlets, setting the tone for a truly tranquil escape. Just beside the homestay, deep below, a gentle mountain stream — locally known as a khola — flows quietly. Its occasional murmur rises through the valley, adding a soulful rhythm to the stillness of your stay. We don’t just offer a place to stay — we always offer a way of life that guests fall in love with and often return to.

"Had an incredible experience at Selep Homestay in Ravangla, Sikkim! Mr. Sanjeev Rai's hospitality is top-notch. The homestay is spotlessly clean, and the food service is exceptional. We only stayed for a day, but I wish we had planned for two. The village and surroundings are perfect for exploration, and you'd want to soak in the tranquility. Highly recommend Selep Homestay to anyone visiting Sikkim. Thanks, Mr. Sanjeev Rai, for making our stay memorable!"

It is an authentic homestay with 5th generation native beautiful Nepalese house and home grown firms, belongs to Mr. Sanjeev Rai ji, from Nepalese Rai community, in their tranquil native village, outskirts of Ravangla town, deep inside the greens and woods. They offered warm hospitality, their rich culture experience, cozy rooms with all basic amenities, home cooked delicious native cuisine meals cooked with home grown vegetables, served in their traditional crockeries. If you r looking to experience the native Himalayan village culture and lives, this is the place. Their collection of orchids, cactus, miniature farm lands, pond gives traveller a very embracing experience. Cherry on top, they also arrange for a village walk, which gives complete experience of the local livelihood, trees & flowers, flora & fauna. We felt great to be there, wish to visit again.

I was so glad to find Selep homestay online as a friend and I travelled towards western Sikkim after some tiring travel in eastern Sikkim (Lachung and Point Zero). Do yourself a favour and don't hesitate to book a stay at this lovely homestay surrounded by nature. Selep truly felt like a welcoming home away from home. The owners accomodated our every needs - including personally attenting to returning keys we had mistakenly forgotten to return to our hotel in Gangtok. Furthermore they organized two days of local hiking and exploration with an exceptional local guide named Khuzen who we now consider a friend. We especially enjoyed the history of the homestay - a location handed down and lovingly taken care of over four plus generations. That and the active farm with livestock and gardens free to explore were highlights. Finally, the food was amazing and lovingly cooked every day. I will never forget the thali and frequent rounds of tea delivered to our room. Thank you so much again for having us and we are already looking forward to staying here next time we pass through. Holiday ❘ Family "An Exceptional Stay from Start to Finish" From the moment we stepped into this homestay, we knew we were in for something special. The hosts made us feel incredibly welcome, offering us homemade treats and taking the time to show us around their beautiful home. The room was not only spotless but also very comfortable, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It was clear that every detail, from the soft bedding to the fully equipped kitchen, was designed with guest comfort in mind. What really made our stay stand out was the genuine hospitality. The hosts shared insightful recommendations about the area and even invited us to enjoy a traditional home-cooked meal, which was an unforgettable experience. The tranquil, serene atmosphere of the location added to the overall relaxation we experienced. If you’re searching for a peaceful getaway with a personal touch, this homestay is the ideal spot. We left feeling rejuvenated and deeply connected to the local culture. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable stay! Holiday ❘ Friends this is the second time I visited that place. the hospitality of the whole family of Sanjeev Da and his wife, his parents and children's are fabulous. we stayed here for two nights in group of approximately 13 people including a child and two infants. and the most admirable thing I observed, even your own relatives can't pay that much importance and attention on you. For first time comers i want to say one last thing that don't think for food and lodging facilities, because they are far beyond this parameter.
