Offbeat Nature Stay Near Temi Tea Garden

Orchid Villa Homestay is an idyllic stop for romancing with nature, located in the quaint Sherpa village of Gangchung near the famous Temi Tea Garden of South Sikkim. Kangchendzonga along with the lush green slopes of the Temi Tea Garden — making it an ideal place to enjoy a peaceful getaway in nature’s lap throughout the year. Far from urban noise and city crowds, this cosy homestay is perfect for travellers looking to slow down, breathe fresh mountain air, and wake up to tea-garden sunrises and birdsong. The ambience is homely and relaxed, with simple, comfortable rooms, warm hosts, and delicious home-cooked food made from fresh local produce.

What Makes it Truly Special

Majestic Himalayan Peaks Meet the Greens of Temi

Wake up to the majestic snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the endless lush green stretches of the Temi Tea Garden — a postcard-perfect panorama that greets you every single day. The changing colours of the morning sky, the soft light on the mountains, and the rolling tea gardens below create a magical start to your day.

Rustic Pine-Forest Off-Roading Approach

An exciting mountain trail leads to the homestay — not a smooth highway, but a rugged, stone-laid off-road path that twists and turns through the hills. On both sides, tall, dense pine trees rise like silent guardians, creating a tunnel of wilderness. You drive slowly, feeling the thrill build with every bend — an adventurous forest trail that sets your heartbeat racing long before you arrive.

Home to Ancient Himalayan Healing Herbs

In and around the homestay, you’ll find a fascinating collection of traditional medicinal plants and mountain herbs. These natural remedies, treasured by local communities for generations, add a unique touch of Himalayan wellness to the surroundings. Some commonly found herbs include Chireto (Bitter Stick), Titepati (Mugwort), Satuwa, Pakhan Bett, Bojo, Timbur, Chimphing, and more.

Pre-wedding photoshoots

Right in front of the homestay lies a spacious open area with spectacular views of the mountains and tea gardens — a dreamy natural backdrop ideal for stunning pre-wedding photoshoots. Whether during golden hour or soft morning light, the scenery adds unmatched charm and elegance to every frame.

Meditation Room

A serene top-floor sanctuary where mountain breezes and quiet Himalayan views create perfect stillness. Overlooking the tea garden valleys, this peaceful space invites you to breathe deeply and reconnect with your inner calm — ideal for sunrise meditation or evening reflection, and spacious enough to accommodate 10–18 people at a time.

Virgin, Offbeat Year-Round Nature Escape

Whether it’s golden winter sunrises, monsoon-washed greenery, vibrant spring blooms, or cool summer breezes, this peaceful hillside haven remains a perfect all-season getaway for relaxation, romance, and pure mountain calm.
